Event Design + Fabrication

After the Tone —home of The original vintage voicemail audio guestbook— had the opportunity to highlight their vintage guestbook phones at the Wedding MBA conference in Las Vegas, NV in November 2023. At Wildhouse Ink— an event design and production company— as an in-house designer I collaborated with After the Tone to bring their vision for this interactive booth to life.

Inspired by the timeless charm of yesteryears' communication devices, After the Tone’s vision transcends the ordinary when it comes to wedding day guest books. Amidst the bustling sea of booths, we wanted this creation to stand as a beacon of creativity and distinction, promising an experience that lingers long after the conference lights dim. When I partnered up with After the Tone alongside my team at Wildhouse Ink I knew we were going to bring this magic to real life!

  • * Upon receiving After the Tone's innovative ideas, I eagerly embraced the opportunity, fueled by my love for 70's vintage style. Researching and gathering inspiration, I envisioned a show-stopping installation centered around a life-size retro phone. With meticulous planning, our vision for a memorable conference presence began to take shape.

  • * Crafting this masterpiece wasn't merely about aesthetics—from rough draft to production, this project was a feat of ingenuity and problem-solving. Amidst the constraints of space and fire-code regulations of the event convention center, our teams had to orchestrate a symphony of design and functionality, ensuring every dimension adhered to perfection.

  • * It is crucial when designing in the event production space that your designs are accurate and to scale from the very start of your project. I worked closely with our team of fabricators to ensure that all of the details, colors, materials, stains were on point, checking in throughout the process of building. From your standoffs when attaching acrylic to wood, to your point size on your lasercut files for the header, every last detail is crucial!
